Sadly, we did not see this movie in 3-D so I am not able to comment on how it looked there. But I suspect that I didn’t miss much by seeing it in 2-D, there weren’t that many scenes that screamed out for the 3-d expierience (except one at the beginning, but for heaven’s sake [...]

Bedtime Stories

A light fluffy family movie, one that was hyped, but not overly productized. This movie was more about the joys of imagination and magic than about selling toys via product placement. It was cute without being overly sweet. Adam Sandler was somewhat restrained, and his usual juvenile humor actually seemed appropriate.
Sure the plot left something [...]

This was a great movie. There weren’t any real gimmicks in the 3D version but, I’m always a fan of the effect anyway. This movie is aimed at kids, but enjoyable enough for adults. And the kids in the audience we saw it with really seemed to enjoy it. (Although I wish the adults didn’t [...]

I saw the trailer and I thought this looked terrible. Really terrible. But, then it got fairly good reviews, and I rethought the whole thing. They said that the 3-D effect made it worth while. That, and the fact that it was a short zippy little film.
Truth be told, I’m feeling a little betrayed by the [...]

What a fun little movie.
I suspected going in that the scene in the clips with the rats and roaches cleaning the house would absolutely crack me up, and it really did.
This is a lite and fluffy movie, nothing complex or complicated, just a fun way to spend a few hours. Its nice to see that [...]

Nope, not a misprint; a misspelling. This movie is based on a book published in 1919 by an 8 year old girl.
The story is of a man (Jim Broadbent) who meets a social climbing young girl on a train. He promises to introduce her to all the nobles he knows (sum total of one – [...]

This movie flew under my radar when it was out in theaters -that’s why god invented DVDs (and to placate me while flying?). This is a fairy tale type of movie that, while not as strong as, The Princess Bride, really reminded me of it. I loved the king and his sons, and the 3 [...]
