I asked a friend what he thought of this before I went to see it. His response: “I liked it – it had sex and Nazis, what’s not to like?”
Well, that about sums it up.
It is true, it is a movie with sex and Nazis, and excellent performances (Kate Winslet even has the awards to [...]

In the spirit of full disclosure, let me admit something here at the beginning. I like many Danny Boyle movies, not all of them, but the last several, so I go into his movies expecting to like them. He is one of the directors that is able to move across genres easily and well. 28 [...]
Bedtime Stories

A light fluffy family movie, one that was hyped, but not overly productized. This movie was more about the joys of imagination and magic than about selling toys via product placement. It was cute without being overly sweet. Adam Sandler was somewhat restrained, and his usual juvenile humor actually seemed appropriate.
Sure the plot left something [...]

Riddle me this – how could they re-make this movie and leave out the best part? There is a classic line from the 1951 version (for those of you who are too young to know already) “Klaatu Barada Nikto”. So how could they remake this movie and not find a way to work that in? [...]

Wow. Thing One and Thing Two told me to be ready for a very violent movie, but I was not as prepared as I should have been. The beginning and the end were pretty good, but there seemed to be a fair bit missing in the middle (Thing Two is looking forward to the extended [...]

This was a great movie. There weren’t any real gimmicks in the 3D version but, I’m always a fan of the effect anyway. This movie is aimed at kids, but enjoyable enough for adults. And the kids in the audience we saw it with really seemed to enjoy it. (Although I wish the adults didn’t [...]

As promised, this did in fact have a foul mouthed kid in it. If you are not a fan or coarse humor, or foul mouthed kids then don’t go see this movie. If you don’t mind them, you will probably enjoy this. Sure the premise is bizarre, but what comedy set up isn’t? I personally [...]

Well, this is a fairly easy review to write. Most of you already know you want to see it, and I’m not going to tell you otherwise. It was a fun movie. A pretty good ride, with very little talking and a lot of action. Its got a car chase, foot chase, boat chase and [...]

I am swearing off movies based on video games.
This one was on par with Hitman, better than Silent Hill, but Below Lara Croft Tomb Raider (and far below or above, depending on your perspective, my secret-favorite, “Alone in the Dark”. I love to watch Tara Reid pretend to be smart).
This movie was not good. At [...]

So, its October, and I am ready for a great new horror movie! Something to get me in the mood for Halloween. The trailers for Quarantine have been airing for months. And I was really ready to watch this movie. (By the way, there will be spoilers in this review. You have been warned).
Sadly, this [...]
